SISTER JUNE'S COUNTRY BAKED BEANS

I swiped this from my sister-in-law. We tease her about them but they are the best baked beans I’ve ever had.

1 Lb Ground Beef
1 28 oz Can Baked beans
4 Strips Bacon
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons Ketchup
4 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard
3 Tablespoons Molasses
1 Onion Diced
Bourbon

In a large skillet cook the bacon until cooked through but not crisp. Remove the bacon and add the ground beef. Dice the onion and add it to the ground beef. When the beef and onions are done drain the fat. Stir in just enough bourbon to de-glaze the pan. Add the ketchup, mustard and molasses. Stir in the brown sugar. While the beef mixture heats, dump the beans into a casserole dish. Chop the bacon into 1/2 inch strips and stir into the beans along with the beef mixture.

Cover the beans and bake in the oven at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.

Hint: This is a perfect place to use a cooking spray unless you like scrubbing casserole dishes.
